Heat in pan over medium high heat -- no oil yet, wait for the rinse water to dry from the pan
Once water is dry, turn heat to medium and keep going
Add oil liberally after a few minutes (~4 pours)

Bought Kellogg’s Special K (Original) and crushed it with a spoon for the crushed cornflakes. This specific brand has 7g protein per 39g flakes, look for that
I used parchment paper not tinfoil. Try that next time?
